One of the primary responsibilities that your Alumni national office takes great pride in is to serve on the Board of Directors for the NFL Player Care Foundation (PCF).
Our organization has been a charter member of PCF since 2007 along with the NFLPA, League Office and Pro Football Hall of Fame. Those same groups still are on the Board and have been joined over the years by outside business and academic members who are experts in their respective fields.
When Super Bowl Week is held in New Orleans early next month, PCF will conduct its 7th Annual Super Bowl Career Fair there on Friday, February 7. It is a one-day event that is designed specifically for us alumni.
There will be time set aside during the day for attendees to meet with recruiting representatives for employers such as Amazon, Google, PepsiCo, Verizon and many additional Fortune 500 companies. These corporations are looking to hire individuals such as yourselves who have unique teamwork and leadership skills.
There also will be workshops and panels focused on those who are looking to transition into new industries. This Career Fair will be an opportunity to build relationships with industry leaders, market experts and fellow alumni who also are planning next career steps. While you probably do not recognize the names of the business reps whom you will be meeting, they know many of you by reputation through your years in the league.
Finally, it is increasingly important for job opportunities and social media platforms such as LinkedIn to have a professional headshot in a jacket and tie for your business portfolio. Free individual photos will be taken of all attendees at this event.
The NFL Player Care Foundation Super Bowl Career Fair occurs on Friday, February 7 starting at 10 AM at The Sheraton New Orleans Hotel located at 500 Canal Street.
We at NFL Alumni encourage you to register here if you are looking to change careers or simply to learn of better job opportunities in your current field. Please contact Anthony Forbes anthony.forbes@nfl.com with any questions. If you are in New Orleans for the Super Bowl, we encourage you to update your resume and add this event to your schedule. What do you have to lose?
